Respiratory Disease. A Case Study Approach to Patient Care

Respiratory Disease: A Case Study Approach to Patient CareThe goal of this book is to help respiratory therapists become knowledgeable about the diseases they see in the hospital and other health care facilities and to better understand how these diseases affect lung function. This knowledge will improve patient care and provide better job satisfaction for the respiratory therapist.
This third edition has changed in numerous ways when compared to the second edition. We have eliminated the neonatal and pediatric diseases because reviewers of the second edition indicated that such topics are well covered in pediatric textbooks. This allows us to focus primarily on adult disorders in this edition. Each chapter has been updated to reflect the latest research related to incidence and treatment. The number of case studies has been increased to help the reader better apply important concepts to patient care. Learning tools have been added to help the student engage with the information.
